Every 360 days, you'll need to revalidate the Hotmail account associated with your BlackBerry smartphone. If you use Hotmail, MSN, or Bell Sympatico on your device, you'll need to:


  • Locate and click on the Setup folder.
  • Within the Setup folder, click on Email Settings.
  • Highlight your Hotmail email account, click the Menu key and select Edit.
  • Enter your Hotmail password and press Submit.

    There are three ways to get Messenger on your BlackBerry smartphone:
  • Download Messenger through the browser on your BlackBerry smartphone
  • Download Messenger through BlackBerry App World™

    To use Messenger on your BlackBerry device, you'll need to have the following:
  • A data service plan from your wireless service provider
  • A Windows Live ID (click here to get a Live ID if you don't already have one)
  • BlackBerry Device Software v4.2 or higher
  • If your phone is connected to a BlackBerry Enterprise Server, your IT department must have an IT policy set to allow Messenger functionality.

  • Download Hotmail through the browser on your BlackBerry smartphone
  • Locate the Setup icon on your phone's home screen, then select Personal Email Setup
